tagged;; open, duhr~ since no one else is posting here >< excuse the crappiness D= Was there any particular reason for her to be here, of all places? There could be so much more that she could be doing. Making dinner, excersizing, studying, anything but being here. What made her come, anyways? Perhaps her father's lectures on how a proper girl should act finally hit her. Maybe she really did want to be here. Not likely.
Yet here she was.
Akita Kyan stood in the gym, right next to the door. Her youthful features were masked, once more, with that empty, careless expression. The girl even wore a dress. Though this was likely the only time she'd be caught in such a frivolous thing. Well, it wasn't frivolous at all, actually. Just to her. The dress was all black, almost gothic in appearance. Not at all her style, but much better than the wonderous gowns most of the other young girls wore. This dress was fairly low-cut and off-shoulder, though she was not at all worried about showing some skin. Her hair was down, as usual, and most fell over her shoulders. One thick lock was entwined with black ribbon, though the ribbon was not at all tied. The ribbon looked to be the same material as the dress. Well, the dress was made of different materials. Mostly silk and velvet, though it was also trimmed with lace and her long, bell-styled sleeves were made of lace. The skirts were in three layers - silk being the innermost layer, velvet the middle layer, and more decorative lace as the outer layer. To match the dress she wore a pair of black slippers, only a half inch heel. Her face was lightly powdered and she had a bit of gloss on, but besides that there were no signs of make up.
Although she did, of course, stand out...AKita was dressed for the occasion.
Now, Kyan did have a slight problem. She was dressed well enough, she had come. However, she had no interest in actually participating. The teenager simply watched as groups of people moved about. Some people were dancing, others just stood by and chatted with each other. There were a few stragglers, like herself, who did not involve themselves wit the going-on. For the most part most everyone was doing something.
A soft sigh escaped. With one hand she brushed a few stray locks of hair from her face then lazily closed her eyes. If nothing intriguing happened soon then she would most likely just leave.

"Karu-kunnn.. You look magnificent, as you did in the last five outfits, but we really must get going or else we will miss the whole thing..." Saito Ren sighed, sitting on a silk tuffet in Hikaru's bedroom, placing two fingers to his forehead and rubbing it impatiently. Ren, of course, was already dressed and ready to go (over two hours ago). He was currently adorned in the latest fashion; which resembled something very old-fashioned... He wore a white long-sleeved shirt with a tight, ruffled neck-collar, pulled even tighter with a thick black bow. The shirt's bulbous sleeves resembled that of something Shakespearean, or the Renaissance. However, a very slick, modern black vest pulled it back into the century, paired with taunt black pants. Hair, of course, was down, and being boredly toyed with at the moment.
"Rennn... Why aren't you paying attention to me? I usually have to squirt you a few times with the squirt-bottle just to keep you off of me," Hikaru inquired, folding his arms and modelling in the wall made of mirrors, lined with velvet curtains. Rich bastard. He was currently in a jet-black suit with a red pocket-square which matched his hair. He posed for Ren obnoxiously, "But, I think you're right, I do like this one best..." Ren sighed, clapped his hands, and jumped up in happiness. Most of the time Ren would enjoy to help boys with their clothes, but Ren wasn't so very into Hikaru... He was thinking about someone else.
"Do you even know what an 'escort' is, Hikaru?" Ren sighed, placing his hands on Hikaru's shoulders and massaged them methodically. Hikaru had become one of Ren's newest "customers", however, it was hard to call him that because Ren didn't apply the usual "services". Hikaru merely snorted indignantly and began stalking off towards the door, "Of course I do. An escort is highered to act as chauffeur, bodyguard, and companion to someone of significantly high socio-economic status. Now, come on; we will take the limo..." Ren sighed and followed; at least the money was good. But it was still questionable about how well he would be able to drive a limo...
Eventually they made it to the school, however the car wasn't in exactly the same condition it started in... However, Hikaru didn't seem to mind; he would just buy another one. Opening the door to the car, it was immediate how Hikaru stuck his nose into the air and waltzed into the gym, as if he owned the place (and he probably payed for most of it, anyway). Saito Ren followed demurely, hiding safely behind a long head of blonde hair, his body, however, seemingly exposed against the quality of his outfit. He looked poetic to Hikaru's pompous, but both moved gracefully as such. They were at a mutual understanding that neither was to talk to each other the rest of the night.
If there was one thing Ren had to give Hikaru credit for, it was guts. The kid waltzed right out onto the dance floor and began working it out, incorperating girls into his routine every now and again. And he was... very cute, with the flashy red hair and the dangerous, love-to-hate vibe. In fact, Hikaru was a Jekyll and Hyde transformation from the Hikaru at home with father... There he was very tight, and very proper, but with the same fiery simmer to his green eyes. Only now that simmer was brought to the top and was boiling over, taking his whole body with it. Hikaru would be happy to destroy himself.
Ren, however, was less interested in letting himself known. In fact, he was looking for someone, bright blue eyes flashing this way and that from behind his rimless glasses. Of course, who else would he be looking for other than Kiyoshi-sama, who, Ren suspected, would probably never even care to come to one of these functions... Ren sighed and took to a corner, standing next to the door and another girl. He had seen her before, from the university and the graffiti incident, however, Ren had forgotten her name. She was... an interesting character... like a gothic doll. They made a similar pair, with Ren's tightly tied black ribbons. She looked like she didn't want to be here at all...
Ren sighed. Perhaps he didn't want to either.

“God damn it Aya, stop playing dumb! You know full well why I don’t want to come inside with you! We agreed I’d accompany you in the car, nothing further,” Nikolai all but shouted at his sister, slamming his fists into the seat in front of him and not at all caring that his mother’s maid whom sat there, in the driver’s seat cursed him in some foul language that he not do it again. The petite form of his sister’s cringed for a moment, probably moreso because she wasn’t at all accustomed to hearing his voice being raised at her and with such open emotion flowing out of him. He really couldn’t help himself though. After that near blow-out on the streets, late that stormy night when he had ran into another student-demon much like himself, he wasn’t going to take any chances again. This little gathering was going to last for far too long and his sister would want to stay here for most of it. Which would mean he’d be out late again, walking her home because his mother was already working the nightshift and the maid was going to go home around 9:30 as usual.
“But Niisan, I don’t know that many people there and I-….” she was abruptly cutoff in her whining as Nik slammed his car door open, flung himself outside into the chilling air near the same time the door was shut with more force than necessary and then dashed his way angrily to her side of the vehicle to open her door for her. Of course, much of his rage subsided at her teary-eyed expression he ended up glaring straight into once the dark Sedan door flung open, those innocent hued, blue eyes reminding him of someone. “Drop it, Ayame. We’ve been at Hidamari for over a week now and you’ve certainly made friends within that time, like always. You’re just nervous, love. Which is ridiculous. You look great, they’re going to love you. Now quit it with that look and go have some fun,” Nikolai soothed, reaching one slender hand out for hers to take as a slow smile crept across his face. This was the part of him no one knew about, the big brother, the protector he had assumed watch over the day his brother had perished.
His little sister glowed a smile in return, believing the words as she reached her hand out and grasped his lightly, pulling her white heels out and over onto the sidewalk just outside the parking lot that led into the back entrance of the gym, the entrance students usually used to go outside to the track. She wore one of their mother’s old sundresses, one of those little things that all but concealed the bits of her you drooled over and yet it was innocently serene enough to have you eying her the minute she stepped through the door, the slit at her legs parting slightly as she stepped fully out of the car door. And her gorgeous, long blond locks fell about her exposed shoulders in curly waves -attention grabbing almost as much as her main feature was. She had wings. A huge foot or so of thick, white feathers that somehow made you question how much the bloody things weighed for them to be where they were on her. For Kiyoshi Ayame was definitely a one-of-a-kind individual. Instead of growing from her spine as was custom, the appendages had grown straight out from her ears. Or rather, grew where the youth’s ears were supposed to be; replaced them really. And having had the girl checked out by every demonic medic in the nation, they had discovered that the things served as her ears too -for she quite obviously could hear just fine either way. Coming to Hidamari, their family had hoped she could learn to somehow make them useful, learn a way to hide them or even (only she was excited at this prospect) learn how to somehow fly on the wondrous things. For they were quite beautiful, turning her into the Angel he had always known her to be.
And yet, his dear sister did something very un-angelic in his eyes as she gave her brother a nasty shove that had him hitting the curb in a shocked grunt and then she flung a farewell to their maid as the woman tore off down the road -leaving them both there as to their own devices on getting home. Nikolai stared up in complete disbelief at Aya, his mouth almost falling open as he just blinked up from his current position of landing on his ass. The girl knelt down to his height when he remained motionless and although she offered him a hand back up, she didn’t expect him to take it. “I know you fear your visions, Nik. But that’s the very reason we came here to Hidamari. And if you don’t ever put yourself out there, how can you possibly expect to learn how to control it? Leave, if you want. But know that I’m staying, Niisan.” She was talking about his skipping classes and this time he didn’t at all feel the need to be guilty of her catching him on this hidden sin after the stunt she had just pulled. Aya then bid him good luck before she skipped her way to the gym, which was really a feet to be performed when in those heels; turning back toward him though just before she entered through the brightly-lit open doors. “Thanks for what you said back there. You truly know what I’m feeling better than me and I love you so much for it, Niisan.”
A good long minute after he was left alone, Nik finally pushed himself off of the pavement floor, brushing off his rather expensive, black slacks and cursing his sister’s name a thousand times as he looked toward the imposing doors that drilled horrid chatter and music from them. “If that’s true then why the bloody hell didn’t I see this one coming?” His words were oddly still as gentle as they had been when he’d purposely been trying to sooth her. And even though he despised the nosiness his sister just displaced, he respected her a bit for the decision she had forced upon him. Oh-well. It wasn't like he couldn't leave the formal at anytime he pleased. And he'd be sure to have one of his sister's more noble friends drive her back. For now, maybe he'd watch his sister enjoy herself a bit, it had been a long time since she had thanks to those lovely wings of hers. And really, it wasn't like he couldn't sneak his way up to the library until the party was done either, if the noise started to get to him or he found he wanted some privacy to brood.
With this decided, Nik took a dark stare upon his clothing once more: one of his usual ‘casuals' for the evening, he wore long baggy, dress slacks, even darker ebony shoes and a bright, white button-down shirt he’d had their maid iron that morning. The dark mess of thick locks that was his hair was nicely brushed and parted to the side as was normal. His family was a bit well off, he’d admit and he could totally afford to dress nicely anytime he pleased so it wasn’t unusual for him to be dressed and ready like this even though he hadn’t been prepared to go to this stupid formal. Of course, he wouldn’t have really cared if he’d been in one of his damn hoodies and jeans really, because he wasn’t here for anyone else but his sister and that’s the only person he’d be interested in watching him too. Or so he thought. No, the only thing he was going to get all cheeky at his sister for later was that he’d already put in his contacts that evening. He hated not wearing his glasses when he was around people. He could never describe why aloud, but he despised people looking upon him without the simple eye ware.
Placing his thoughts into the back of his head just around the time another car pulled up, their lights striking his form momentarily, Nikolai brought upon his indifferent calm he was so well known for and forced the grimace back as he stepped inside the building and was swamped into the sea of people there. His hazel eyes sought out the form of his sister immediately upon finding a relatively safe expanse of area in which to hide in and he wasn’t at all surprised this time to see her surrounded by a crowd of people, of varying ages and gender. He kept back his smile from showing upon the surface as tempting as it was, never leaving his sister’s sight from his cold eyes so much so that he noticed a bit annoyed-like the redhead his sister slowly approached in a blushing shyness, her friends pushing at her from behind with laughter upon their void-less faces.
Notice: Kiyoshi Ayame is an NPC so all can have fun playing her. But know that if you hurt her, Nik will slaughter you. ^^ ~cough~ Karu ~cough~

"Stop laughing, dammit!" The purple haired girl glared at her eldest brothers, who were snorting with laughter at her get-up. "I said stop!" Grabbing thier heads and knocking them together, she sneered at the imagine in the mirror. "Know what? I'll just stay home, nobody's going to miss me, it'll be fine."
"No! You have to go! Everyone wants to see you in your..." He burst out in laughter again, but was forced to shut up when his foot was trapped between Nova's foot and the floor. "Your panties are showing." Her foot pressed down harder, and her other brother tapped on her, informing her that he was bordering between life and death. With a flourish, she lifted her foot, and headed for the door, stamping as she did so.
"I'm right there Nova! But shouldn't we take care of Rei first?"
"Who cares about him? C'mon, I'm gonna be late." Opening the door to a silver volvo, she stepped inside, slamming the door shut. "Well? Are you coming? I don't have all day, so don't make me drive!" At the last threat Mei hurridly jumped into the car, shutting the door with much more care than Nova, and set off, leaning sideways to avoid bieng smacked with the wings on Nova's head.
"If you're so irritated, why do you want to go so much?"
"I'm not irritated!" Her brother smirked, dodging a wing which was heading for his face. Handing her a red ribbon, she started on the chore to scrape up some hair and put into a ponytail. "And...There's no reason for me wanting to go...No reason." Smoothing out the biege coloured dress she was wearing, she put her face into her hands. "I should have gone for the longer dress...I wish I didn't have to show my legs..."
"Nova, you're wearing tights. That's not what I call showing some leg." Nova sighed, and examined the white tights for any cuts, and rubbed her ankle, where she was sore from walking in high heels. Small ones, maybe a two centimteres, but they still counted. "Okay, we are here. Go flirt to your hearts content." Punching her brother, she stepped out, and pushed the door open, and immediately picked up on two familiar faces.
Face Number One - Scary boy who had called her bitch after she had walked into him at night.
Face Number Two - Fangirl objective number one, also having called her a bitch after she socked him in the face.
I can't really go talk to any of those two...I'll just go stand by the guys. "Hey, what'sup?" They stared at her, before letting out a chuckle, all three at once. "Don't laugh!" Was it really her fault that she was forced to wear something so silly? She'd much rather have worn a suit, to make a joke of it, but no, not for Rei or Mei. She had been forced into this goddamn halter dress, and she could feel her arms growing colder by the minute.
"Nova, we're gonna go socialize, your on your own now." A nod, and then she watched them dissapear thier seperate ways, and she rubbed her arms, trying to warm up. I wish I hadn't come...

How long had she been standing there? The lass didn't know. Kyan shifted her position slightly, her muscles aching from stand so still. So obviously she'd been standing there for a while. Her taze wandered to the snack table...most of the foods there were junk. Actually, all of it was junk. The healthiest thing on the table had to be the punch. Figures, not even worth coming to for the food.
Akita let out a heavy sigh, tilting her head back so her skull lightly banged against the wall. What a waste of precious time.
Even through her half-lidded eyes she noticed someone walk over and lean against the wall next to her. For a moment she was still, just staring at him from the corner of her eye. Of course, she couldn't get a very good view of him. So she tipped her head down again, turning slightly to look a him. Once she has a better look she recognized him from the university. The name escaped her...which was unusual for the lass, but he might have had one of those names she could never remember.
"...You." Was all she said to address the young man. The green-haired teen could tell he probably didn't want to be here, too. She didn't need to use her abilities to see that. Plus she really couldn't blame him. This was all so pointless.

Saito Ren rubbed his forehead against his delicate hand, trying to surrepticiously glance around without being too noticable. Of course he was attracting attention merely from standing there. He was the only University student (most thought these little dances too "teen" to bother), and therefore was among the tallest. Even merely leaning in the corner the older male still drew attention from gawking eyes. He was... beautiful, no doubt. Unique clothes, and not to mention the unconcious way his hips aways seemed to expose themselves. Feminine curves accentuated by the position in which he leaned... But Ren only wanted one person at the moment to be gazing at him in such a way...
Hmmm? Me? Ren put his hand down, looking at the girl blankly for a second, wondering if she was going to go on or not... She didn't. At least someone to talk to would help pass the time Ren figured, turning over on the wall before pushing back his hair furtively. Pretty girl. Most people would put on a lot of make-up or useless things for these events - teens always loved dressing up as whores. But they had no idea what it was like to be a whore. Innocence was always a more desirable trait in Ren's mind. All those women in their dark hotel rooms... they always thought they needed to paint their faces to be desirable. All they needed was more self-confidence.
"Hey; It's Ren. I remember you from the university..." Ren shrugged, their acquiantence was nothing special, in fact he was quite sure she'd forgotten him as quickly as he had her. Just a simple misunderstanding and whatnot. But even the slightest familiarity was a comfort here among so many judgemental faces. Ren was glad to not be so totally isolated in this ocean of bodies... Dancing so promiscuously... Such silliness.
But wait. From Ren's position looking at the girl, he could see the door directly and who was entering. In fact, his heart skipped a beat and Ren felt himself crave heavily for a cigarette. Rudely looking past the girl, his blue eyes couldn't leave the magnificent figure of Kiyoshi standing in the doorway, looking as dissatisfied as usual. In fact, Ren was quite expecting not to see him here... and there he was. But, what to do? Ren wanted to walk over there, but more than likely Nikolai would run right out the door. Perhaps it was better just to talk to this girl and ignore him for a while... Let Nik spot Ren first. Yes, that might be a better idea...
Resolutely, Ren put his eyes back on the girl, however, they often flicked up wildly in hopes that Nik was looking his way. Not to mention it was damn hard to concentrate as the thoughts poured through his mind... I can't believe he's here... Kiyoshi-sama. God, you look so smart and adorable when you dress so neatly... You don't need any bravado, nothing fancy... you're so beautiful in anything... or nothing at all. Nothing at all! Ha-haha! What am I thinking? Nikolai naked... God, I have to stop this. Stop, stop, stop thinking about such things... I wonder if he will dance with me? Oh, please come over here... Wait a minute - why do I care so much? What is this... obsession?
Hikaru was having a magnificent time at it, his average-sized body bouncing and weaving with the beat. Of course, he'd only ever had formal lessons, but the basic steps were still the same. Only difference was two words - hip action. As he grooved against some of the girls, Karu's blood-red hair was thrown widely about, sometimes appearing as if his throat had been slit. He was very wild, and happy to be in the head-pounding rush. An athletic high was something euphoric, not to mention the intense ego-boosting he was giving himself.
Taking a breather, and a moment to chat it up with a few girls, Hikaru was quick to note the small giggling group pushing up a member towards him; a younger girl... delicate and "pure" looking, with large fluffy wings for ears. Hikaru smirked to his buds, who knew his "type" wasn't anywhere near so "angelic", but that this would be fun to watch. He waltzed over confidently and stuck out his hand to the girl, a smile placed upon his deceivingly handsome face, "What's your name? Care to dance with me?" And by "what's your name" he meant "I don't know you already, so I probably won't remember your name anyway." and by "care to dance with me" he meant "Care if I make a fool out of your white dress by dirty dancing behind you for the enjoyment of my friends?" Yes, high school could be so cruel.

“OMG! Just look at Karu-kun, isn’t he the most gorgeous sight you’ve ever seen!?” “Oh and isn’t it just so courteous of him to allow those poor, swooning girls a dance with him?” “They say he’d give anyone a chance as long as they’re sincere and beautiful. And he’s supposed to be the most loyal lover around.” “I just can’t stop looking at all of that fair skin and that brilliant, flaming ha---” the very feminine voice was cut off by the darkly handsome youth that had been standing next to them as he finally approached their group and they dared to dream that he was going to ask them for a dance. I mean, the boy wasn’t as fair and wonderful as Karu-kun but he had a different, dark and fragile brilliance mixed within an odd gracefulness that was all but cat-like and he had them gushing after the deep voice of his ensued open his initial questioning. “Excuse me, my ladies, but whom did you say that bright, young lad was with all of that lovely red hair?” Nikolai questioned, beaming sweetly although not at all meaning the look, just cruising for information because the boy looked too familiar to them and he hoped he wasn’t whom he thought he was. He hoped he’d heard them say a rather different term than: Karu-kun.
At first the women seemed slightly disappointed at his question but that cute little beam of his won them over soon after and they were all too happy to supply him with the information after he answered there one question to him: “And what might your name be, sweetheart?” The brunette in the center of their little semi-circle of five questioned him. She was a cute little thing wearing a dress that showed absolutely too much skin and although her makeup outlined her face perfectly, with just the right amount of blush coated here or there, she was all too young in appearance and probably not supposed to even be here. He bowed his head a little in a show of chivalrous respect as if he was some kind of stupid knight and then played one of his little ‘I’m so embarrassed that you asked such a question, I’m going to smile and blush all at the same time, while acting as though such a name shouldn’t ever be remembered by such lovely faces.’ It was something of a gift for someone to be able to mimic emotions and feelings at anytime they wanted even when they weren‘t feeling such things inwardly, and if what he thought was true, that redhead was a master at this as much as he was a monster in a lambs cloth. The girls made one of those annoying high-pitched squeals, you know, the ones you can hear from a squirrel if your cat happens to corner it in some freakin’ hole and he thought it best to let the words fall now, hoping that this wasn’t going to already start a reputation for his ass.
"Why, I am Kiyoshi Nikolai. It’s so very nice to meet you.” His eyes slid shut to make his embarrassed smile all but gleam and he was glad for the distraction of eyes because he swore he never wanted to see that much female flesh again. “Oh, one of the new students here. Your sister is Ayame, right? She’s in one of my classes. Wow, you don’t look anything like her photos when you’re not wearing your glasses,” the young brunette cooed and it took everything within him not to growl at the girl’s rude comment and to instead look as if he was hanging off of every single word she fed him. “Well, since you’re so cute, I’ll tell you. That’s Hikaru Ishikawa, the eldest child and heir to the Ishikawa Corporation. He’s the resident genius of Hidamari High and is sadly in his last year of staying here.”
He’d only needed a name and had scurried away from them immediately upon receiving it, allowing the female and her friends to wonder what had just happened as he plainly walked straight across the room in the direction of this supposed ‘genius.’ He knew of the Hikaru’s and this one must be the famed Fourth his father had once mentioned, back in a time when he had been studying to take over their father’s many businesses as soon as he became of age. Yes, Nikolai’s father combined with his mother’s surgeon reputation had gone pretty far in the business world and that was where their money came from now. Not nearly as far as the Hikarus in class or stature, mind you, but just enough to having once shaken one of the elder Hikaru’s hands in a committee function gathering. Since then their father had left them and Nik had unceremoniously refused to take over the business after learning of their father’s ultimate secret, he’d pretty much dropped the job into his Grandfather’s hands despite the protesting of his mother’s or the guilty pleas of little Aya. He was glad for not having to throw himself in that political war of a void and he would hope not to do so now. The Hikaru’s had never looked down well upon the Kiyoshi family, or rather, the Sharde’s for that was his father’s maiden name and company uses. People of such low wealth and power were meaningless within their eyes and it had Nik wondering just why a Hikaru would be coming to a school such as this one.
Either way though, he was going to rescue his sister’s naïve innocence from the likes of that probable snake. I mean, he hadn’t met the Fourth Hikaru before, formally or informally and he didn’t know the youth personally other than the fact that the kid was supposedly intelligent beyond his years, holding a beauty that was rumored myth-like and he was of Nikolai’s age and year in school had Nik not had that ‘accident’ occur the following 12 months ago. He didn’t really know if this boy was as evil as his father had told him most of the Hikaru’s were. Hell, he’d learned that some things his father, Vander Sharde, had told him were lies anyway so it really didn’t matter. But there was just something that had his lithe body moving anyway. And move it did, straight across the dance floor, going right by the two wallflowers of Akita and Sai-chan and then passing smoothly up to the opposite side of that red haired boy so as he could catch his sister’s hand instead of the other. He had been too focused on his target to notice the University student that was secretly pinning after him and he remained true to his goal as one slim hand clamped firmly around the soft skin of his sister’s palm, inwardly cringing at the touch even if it was family.
“Excuse me, sir Ishikawa Hikaru. But I believe that Miss Kiyoshi had already promised me her first dance as payment for forcing me to come to this wretched little gathering,” He interrupted, forcing the words to be as polite and formal as you usually kept words when in the presence of someone of greater stature than your own and yet his other hand was clenching in a fist at his side even as he curtsied to his sister and watched her give him a very confused one back, tiny fingers closing around the tip of her brilliantly white dress. He didn’t look the rival in the face though until this next moment, when he allowed his fake, albeit polite smile to extend to the youth. “Don’t worry, my lord. You are welcome to the next dance if I don’t win her over in such a short time.”
With these parting words though, he pushed forward to the dance floor, couples parting as he passed for no apparent reason before he paused and offered his sister his first real smile for the night. They moved as one and together as a far slower tune came into being upon the speakers, a song that Nik found he didn’t have to think about too heavily on before his feet started making the steps for him. Both of the youths had been taught how to dance at young ages and although Nik had not used such a skill in a long time, he was far from rusty. But his sister was the one that soon began to lead for him and her magnificent wings glided almost at the same time as their feet paced. He almost laughed though at the brooding look his sister continued to give him, obviously not at all liking his interruption from before but having been too surprised by his touching her of his own accord, willingly so, to have said anything sooner. “You know who he is, right?” he asked her softly, the worry hinted in his voice not reaching his eyes. She almost scoffed at him, not at all holding back in her emotions as he always did. “I’m not as naïve as you believe me to be. Of course I know who he is and you don’t have to pull this charade with me. I know. I’ll be careful. He’s not a bad guy, really, Niisan. I don‘t need your protection anymore, I‘m certainly grown up,” she assured him, her words tilting from annoyed to reassurance as he performed a move that had her golden hair twirling. Her answer though, proved her naivety but he knew by her tone of voice that this was one of those things he’d have to let her do on her own.
“Fine. As long as you know what you’re doing,” Nik relented, sighing heavily and moving into the final stages of the song’s chord. He smiled sincerely at her though even as he eyed Hikaru from over her shoulder with a speculative menace. “I’ve decided I’ll be sticking around, so call my cell when you’re ready to go or if you need me, love. And really, you do look wonderful tonight, especially if my little sister is able to attract the attention of the infamous Hikarus.” The words were pointless and meant nothing, sadly so. For the shallow girls he had seen throwing themselves down at that youth, Hikaru, only meant that he probably really would just take anyone. And so he only voiced these thoughts to reassure his timid sister one final time about her looks, because he knew her to be funny that way. And when she blushed at him cutely right around the time of the music’s end, when Nikolai bowed low to her: he knew he’d said the right thing again.
Gracefully, like a cat, he lead his sister back over to her friends without eyeing the other teenage boy in the near vicinity and he gave her hand one final squeeze before letting go completely, happy for the break in touch actually as much as he was sure his sister was glad for his finally touching her. He took his leave right around the time his sister’s companions started gushing about his wonderful manners and she tried to calm them down with words explaining that he was her brother so they didn‘t get the wrong idea. Really, they were such shallow women. Stupid. And I believe that rich brat is only even more moronic to be attracted to them. Whatever though, I think I made my point. I doubt I have much to worry about besides my sister making a fool out of herself in his presence. But now that he was done with his warning, he could make his way secretly to the library where he‘d have some quiet time and not have to be in the presence of so many people. The door would almost surely be locked, but he had a key. He helped the librarian sometimes after school when his sister was at her track meets and he was forced to wait for her.
“I thought you said your brother wore glasses, Ayame?” The demoness turned to her friend with an innocent smile on her pretty face, still a bit confused by her brother’s actions and yet understanding it was just his way of being overprotective. “He does. I kind of forced him here unexpectedly and he wasn’t able to retrieve them.” “Kiyoshi Nikolai, right? I think he looks cuter without them anyway.” Ignoring the mumbled words of that particular friend, Aya turned to face the lovely redhead she had been wanting to say hello to. Her face turned red instantly upon looking into his eyes though so she had to look down at her feet as she addressed him. “I apologize for my brother back there. U-um, my name’s Kiyoshi Ayame and I would be honored to dance with you, my lord.”

Thank god. Niether of them had noticed her. Although it was a bit hard to see the girl hiding behind a potted plant. They seem busy... Letting out a sigh of relief, she tried to make her way towards the snack table, but got an elbow in her stomach, making her stumble. About to grab the clutz and give them a piece of thier mind, they managed to dissapear. Standing up, she tried to look for them, but with a sigh, she stood up. Picking up a plastic cup filled with some sort of juice, she drifted away to a corner where she could view the red haired boy, and if he noticed her, she could easily hide behind all of the people. Why her intrest with the boy, you ask? Truth be told, she had nothing better to do.
"Hey, isn't that the girl that smacked Karu-Kun in the face? I wonder why she did that! And after he only tried to help her and all, she's so ungrateful!" Turning around to look at a girl who's platinum blonde hair was obviously dyed, she litsened in on the conversation, her wings flapping with excitement from hearing this.
"Yeah, but didn't she cry after that? I think she secretely likes him!" What! They thought that she! Giving a snort of laughter, almost choking on her drink as she did so. This was most odd. Out of the corner of her eye she saw some angel like girl walking over to him, and the boy she had met letting go of the girls hand, and walking away. She could hear small bits of conversation.
"Your brother...wore...Ayame?" "He does...forced him...retrieve them." "...Kolai...cuter...anyway." “I apologize...name’s...Ayame...honored to dance...my lord.” It was like watching television, but not as high volume, and nobody telling you to switch the channel. Feeling an elbow in her back from, well, she didn't know who, someone had shoved her, she found herself sprawled behind Hikaru. Just walk away slowly... Standing up, she slowly inched away, trying to make as little sound as possible. Hide! Hide! The potted plant is occupied, just hide. There's nowhere to hide! Panicking, looking left and right, her left eyebrow twitching.

For a moment the young man remained quiet, as if waiting for her to continue. Naturally, the girl didn't. It was just her way to use as few words as possible. Unless the occasion called for a certain politeness.
Turning her golden gaze to the floor she couldn't help but notice everyone used the same act, particularly the young men. Charming smiles and gracious bows and light giggles...she didn't need telepathy to see it was all fake. The faintest of smiles appeared on her face, a true amused smile. She was such a hypocrite...disliking it all so much and yet she could put on the act as well. Not as often as many, but she still did.
"Hey; It's Ren. I remember you from the university..." The femme glanced back in his direction, her smile gone as quickly as it came. She blinked one and nodded. Yet she didn't want to seem that rude, so she decided to speak. He didn't seem completely worthless, anyways. "Ren...I remember." She began, the words floating on a slightly monotone voice, yet she managed to give them a subtle spark. "Kyan." The green-haired girl added, in case he did not remember her name...or did she even give it out? She couldn't really remember, but didn't bother dwelling. In any case, he had given a first name so it was only proper for her to give a first name.
Kyan notice him looking past her and - as everyone would do - turned her head to see what he was looking at. She noticed two people come in - a pretty young girl with lovely wings instead of ears and a boy she vaguely recognized from the high school. At first she assumed he'd been looking at the girl - she certainly stood out in her pretty dress and with those wings. But then her abilities started up and she heard a string of thoughts from Ren.
At first she really didn't mind. It wasn't uncommon for a boy to be attracted to another boy - not here. But then she desperately wanted censorship.
A slightly irritated expression became visible on her features as she looked at the university student once more. "Yes...do stop thinking of such things so clearly." The faintest of growls were heard in her voice as she spoke. Akita closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose as she began to block out the thoughts of others around her bit-by-bit.

Ren felt himself grow in anticipation as it seemed that Nikolai was heading in their direction, only to be severly let down when he veered off and went into the dance fray instead. A heavy sigh was emitted, something of relief and frustration. He seemed to be... asking someone else to dance? Karu-kun? No, a lovely girl... Who was she? Who was this "other" woman who got to dance personally with Nikolai? The questions were maddening, and of course, Ren was apt to think the worst. Perhaps she was his girlfriend... No. Nikolai wasn't the "type" to have a girlfriend... But then, who was she? So pretty and so young!
Ren's attention rushed rapidly back between the girl and his focus, luckily she wasn't saying much... and even if she was, he probably wouldn't have heard her. Kyan. Now he remembered her; it rhymed with "cyan" and made him think "green", however, cyan was a blue color... Just a little thing he caught himself doing at times to remember people. Not very many girls had green hair. Briefly he wondered if it was natural or not. Then his attention went back to Nikolai, watching him as he passed off the girl to Karu-kun. What was that all about?
"What did you say?" Ren asked, quite surprised at the girl's odd comment, not connecting it with his previous thoughts. However, he did not stick around long, as he could see Nikolai moving off silently, going somewhere not close by. After he watched the door shut, Ren excused himself from the conversation rudely and left the wall, walking around the closest perimeter of the gym to get to said door, opened it, and slided into the darkness of the empty school. Immediately a chill settled against his neck. Darkness.
Hikaru-kun was quite beside himself when his soon to be had "fun" was so rudely interrupted by another kid. At least the kid seemed to be polite, and since he practically was already dragging the girl away, Karu could say nothing but a snarky "Whatever," and shrug. He wasn't so much interested in watching them dance, however. He took the time to laugh and joke dirtily with his comrades, boys of the same stature and identity.
It wasn't long before the little white princess was brought back to him; Hikaru probably the only one who thought her wings were utterly ridiculous. Growing out of her ears? What the hell? Hikaru often was very uncomfortable around demons. Mostly because he was quite jealous of them. They had "powers" and drama. He was merely... normal, in a sense. However, it was probably a good thing Hikaru possessed no power, for he would be the first to take advantage of it. In any case, Hikaru grinned smugly as the boy complimented his lineage, and took the girl by the hand to the middle of the fray.
"The pleasure's all mine," Hikaru replied grandly, however, was interrupted once more by the girl suddenly falling flat on her face in front of him. That girl... That bitch was the one who punched him in the face!! Quickly Hikaru forgot about the poor girl in white, taking the time in order to march angrily towards the bitch, who was obviously trying to find an escape route. Oh, she'd better run... "Where are you going, sweetheart; care to dance?" was his sardonic threat.

Run! Run! He's turning this way, you can go faster! Damn damn damn damn! He's about to say something! A shiver ran through her as he did, and from her hunched escaping position, she snapped straight up like a doll, or a puppet, and slowly turned around. "Where are you going..." actually meant. "You can't go yet, I need to ridicule you and get my revenge." "Sweetheart" meant "Bitch." "Would you care to dance?" Now that one was easy. "Would you like to go up on the dance floor, pretend to dance with me, while we both try to kill each other as glamorously as possible?" Ooh, this was a nice choice. Say No, and never hear the end of it, say Yes, never hear the end of it, and run away...Never hear the end of it.
Tricky one.
Glancing over at the girl with the feathery white wing/ears...Which made her thank that she had ears, at least, and then glance back at Hikaru. "Why sure, I'd love too, Karu-Kun." Also meaning. "Oh fuck, seems I have no choice. Oh well, at least I can try to trip you up, you cold bastard." She said in one of those sickly cute voices which she reserved for times like these, but her face and posture really didn't match it. Crossed arms, leaning back slightly in a cocky way, and a smile, while not a smirk nor a sneer, a kind of 'Did-you-expect-that' smile.
As the leathery green wings flapped, she listened as the end of a song came, and the beginning of a new one...Wait, was that... "Ehm...Maybe next song..." Her cute voice vanished, and why, you ask? It was one of those songs where the girl got the chance to cling to some poor, poor guy who had to take the full weight as the girl leaned onto him, maybe crushing him in the progress. At least, that was her experience of it. "Yup, next song...You don't want to dance with me when it's this dance, right? Dance with..." Was that the girl called Ayame? Maybe. "...Sorry, I don't know your name." Directing her attention at the girl, she bit her lip, hoping he'd just go off with this girl...Feathers McGee, or shrimpy. Well...Feathers McGee did sound good, when you thought about it. Or was that just Nova's mind?
Probably just Nova's mind.
Anyway, as a few lovers had made their way onto the dance floor, she carefully observed the steps from two who seemed to know it...Just in case he didn't catch the 'hint' she was dropping, and she was forced up anyway. Hmph. The steps were at least easier then what Mei had tried to force upon her when she had attempted to take dancing lessons from him, even though they had started going okay in the end.
