[/color] By signing up you are agreeing to the Proboards TOS and these rules. If you haven't read the TOS, do so now here. Or at the very least breeze through it. But since no one is planning on clicking it, I went ahead and added those rules into this topic.General
•» If you're under the age of thirteen then go away. I'll know and I'll just ban you. I don't even like kids under the age of 13. I don't feel like babysitting.
•» Again, if you sign up you are agreeing to these rules. Do not break one then throw a fit if we reprimand you.
•» This site is rated PG-13. There will be NO excessive sexual content, violence, or language. There may be some violence, gore, minor sexual content, and adult language. If you can't handle it, then leave.
•» I'm going to make this clear: I am not afraid to kick someone off my site. If you think you can come here and do what ever the hell you want then you are very wrong. I won't waste my time with you, I will simply ban you. I do not mind only having a couple members as long as they are good quality members. That's more successful then having a hundred something noobs breaking rules left and right and sending the site into chaos.
•» Now I'll make this clear. I'm no push over. However, I love hearing ideas, suggestions, and comments from people. I promise I won't bite you. I will take time to consider what you said and if I turn you do I will give you a good reason. More than likely I won't turn you down.[/ul]
Your Account
Jane Doe
Akita Kyan[/ul]
•» You may only have one account per character and you may only have five characters (five accounts).
•» Don't sign up pretending to be someone else. If you do I'll delete your second "person" without hesitation. Don't complain about it, I don't care.
•» Avatars must be no bigger than 100x100 pixels and they can't be smaller than 80x80 pixels.
•» Signatures cannot stretch the board out. Nor can they take up the length of my screen! And do NOT advertise in your signature.
•» Images must be kept PG-13. Nothing pornographic. Also, images must be of and/or relating to your character.[/ul]
Activity
•» After your profile has been accepted you have one week to post in roleplay.
•» You must post at least once a week. If you are completely inactive for three weeks (without excuse) then you'll be deleted.
•» If you are going to be absence, either post in the "Hiatus Notice" board or contact a staff member through PM. Don't pop up in the cbox then vanish.
•» If you don't think you can be very active, then don't join. If you have to take care of your sick aunt and study for exams and try to pay for your house and work five jobs then maybe you shouldn't be trying to roleplay.[/ul]
Respect
•» Respect your staff members. Just do it. We aren't trying to humiliate you or put you down (unless you give us reason to, such as breaking the rules). If you anger, contradict, criticize, insult, annoy, irk, bother, etc. the admins then you will be kicked off. Usually it's the "three strikes and you're out" rule, but know this: I do not put up with crap.
•» To make it clear: I love suggestions, opinions, questions, etc. But if you are insulting and/or critical about it you will be ignored and maybe even put down if it is very insulting/critical/just plain stupid.
•» If you don't like someone then okay, just ignore them. They'll get the hint eventually.
•» Oh, and for those who are dense. If someone isn't responding to you, then just shut up and leave them alone.
•» Be welcoming to new members. You don't have to go out of your way, but just be nice. If you see an open topic, join it.
•» Quite frankly, I don't care about your heritage, religion, politics, or any of it. I don't care if you're racist or sexist. Just keep it to yourself! These are sensitive topics, keep it to yourself or talk about it privately (PM, IM, Email).
•» If anyone insults and/or harasses you then contact me immediately.[/ul]
CBox Rules
•» Do NOT advertise other forums in the cbox, not even in your name.
•» Make sure we know who you are in the cbox.
•» Obey the forum rules.[/ul][/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
[ R O L E P L A Y • R U L E S ]
[/color] You must have at least one decent paragraph per post. Dry muses happen, I know. But you can squeeze a paragraph in.General
•» I like quality more than quantity (but I still like quality!). Lengthy posts won't do. Don't repeat yourself or throw in something completely random that doesn't relate to the topic, etc. Try to make it flow together nicely, not jump around, use more adjectives, metaphors, similes, personification, etc. Make your post interesting to read. (Luckily this usually gives quality.)
•» Your are allowed to put your character in more than one roleplay at once. Don't abuse this, though. Also, try to establish a timeline of some sort. If you're in two topics, the one you joined first will come before the second in time (unless the topic starter says otherwise).[/ul]
Private and Group Threads
•» Once a thread is past one page (15 posts) then the roleplay is closed to the characters in that thread. Normally by then they're pretty deep into the roleplay and having someone randomly barge in can be annoying.
•» Of course you may ask permission to join a private thread, but you must have everyone's permission. Not just one person's.
•» In group threads be sure to post under the person you posted under when you entered EVERY TIME. Keep it in order. Don't post after everyone or continue on and on without someone, it's very annoying. And rude. And it irks the admin very very much.[/ul]
Grammar
•» Capitalize and punctuate properly. Try to run a spell check before posting. Minor errors are fine, but just make sure your post makes sense.
•» Do not use first or second person. No "I," "you," "us," etc. Use third person: "he," "she," "their," etc.
•» Try not to jump tenses. Use "said," not "says."
•» Use the "book" format. Quotes around speech ("quotes") and italics for thoughts (slanty things) and leave action in regular text. You may bold and color and what-not if you wish, but nothing ugly or tacky. Glow text, smileys, asterisk (*), tildes (~), et cetera.
•» Do not use chat speak, text speak, or l33t speech.[/ul]
Fighting
•» Don't god-mod. Godmodding is:
And prolly more, but those are the most common forms of godmodding.
•» Don't powerplay. It's just controlling someones character and/or their "personal" npc (pets, family, etc.). (Of course the second is not at all a big deal, but it can get annoying.)
•» Character deaths will NOT be accepted. Again, it's a high school roleplay. People join expecting their characters to live.
•» Just try to use common sense.[/ul]
Romance
•» Gay relationships are allowed. If you are against gay relationships then simply ignore it. Don't complain to me about it.
•» Give your relationships some problems. Other than who hangs up first or who loves who more. Honestly, put some fun in it. Trust issues, communication problems, whatever.
•» No sex. None. Not on my boards. Just skip it.
•» Let's avoid pregnancies as much as possible, hm? If you do want it, PM me first.
•» No love at first sight. Attractions and crushes are fine, but try to roleplay the characters together (through at least two topics) before getting them together.
•» Keep the relationships to characters. Just because your characters are dating does not mean you're dating in ooc.[/ul][/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
