[/color] unique names with a nice flowGood news! For current members...<.<
I am upping the standards just a tad. Mostly on profiles. So far I've got the intermediate members I've wanted (and love <3) and I'm such a stickler, I just love quality more than quantity.
Anyways, for profiles. I was looking at length and a bit of details and how it's written at first. But now I'm going to judge on the details and how it's written rather than length. Luckily, details often give way to length ^_~
So, if you're planning to make another character (or planning to join and was smart enough to read this <.< ) I'll throw in a small list of what I'm really looking for. Now, of course, you don't have to do everything exactly as I say, this isn't a "MUST DO" list. Just a "what will get you approved quicker" thing.
the character:
•» an interesting and unique physical appearance
•» we prefer to have an image since it helps us judge how your description is written, but an image is optional
•» a unique personality that is neither common, cliched, nor stereotyped
•» [for demons] unique abilities that are uncommon or even unheard of
•» an interesting history, but nothing with tragedies happening every other year to the person
•» basically, someone unique =3[/ul]
the application:
•» a bit of personality in the profile. instead of just typing out the facts and in a perspective or make a comment to state the fact.
•» we also like interesting writing. metaphors, similes, etc. also, constantly using verbs such as "is, are, was, were, has, had, etc." a lot can be quite boring. a pet peeve of mine is someone starting every sentence with either the character's name, he, she, his, or her.
•» in the description we love the entire character described: eyes, hair, face, lips, nose, clothing, body, etc.
•» in personality give a lot of depth. best way to read it is if one starts from the character's stronger trait and then works down through the rest. give how he/she normally is, how he/she will act during different emotions and what can cause certain emotions.
•» [for demons] your abilities should be well written as well. describe exactly what that ability is. add in limitations, weaknesses, strengths, what can trigger these abilities, and how they work.
•» this is my personal opinion, but i think that history should have the most personality. When you write your character's history, i would like it if you wrote it as if you were your character telling the story. But in not just what happened, but how your character felt. usually when i see long histories i'm pleased, but i'm also like "oh crap i have to read all that." making it interesting (as most have done so far <3) will be very nice. =3[/ul]
Oh, one more thing.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]
NO MORE ROLEPLAY SAMPLE!
;D ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D
From now on your application will be your roleplay sample. Again, you do not have to do exactly as I put it above. You may find a different way to impress us. =D I know a few already have <.< But, for new members, when you join you MUST put some serious effort in your first profile. Otherwise I won't get a good impression and I will be watching your every move.
Oh, and before I forget: I am thinking about adding a tad bit of a plot. Nothing huge, but I shall consult my co-admin and see what we come up with. If you have an idea or a suggestion then contact me right away. I love hearing ideas!
ALSO
We will be looking for TWO mods between now and...some time <.< If you want to be a mod do NOT tell us...SHOW us. Be active, be welcoming, roleplay to your absolute best, help the admins when you can, etc. etc. We will see who does their best and those will be the two people that we pick. How will you know we pick you? You'll receive a PM first, so if you don't want the job simply say so. =3
Oh, yes, around that time we'll start finding characters to smack in the spotlight. <.<
'Tis all for now~
